UK Citizens Continue to Wage War against LED Street Light Replacement Wave

LED street lights have not been welcomed with open arms by UK suburbanites. Yet another report by a UK based newspaper reports citizens protesting against LED street light installations in neighborhoods.

UK local resident Simon Nicholas has made a Daily Politics film campaigning against LED street light introduction into his home town of Trafford in Manchester, said the BBC. Nicholas states that LEDs cause health issues and disrupt sleep.

Early last month, UK newspaper Daily Mail reported that LED street light replacement was causing an uproar among local residents across London. People had even taken measures to prevent and stall further installations by signing petitions and threatening the local council.

It seems that UK citizens are not keen on the local government’s move to replace traditional sodium street lights with what they deem as “ugly and potentially harmful blot on urban landscape.”
