Amerlux® never stops in researching and delivering continuous improvements in all of its products. The latest improvement is the upgrade in performance of the Hornet HP A14 LED Engine that delivers outstanding reliability and guaranteed efficiency in energy and maintenance.
The update to Hornet HP-A14 LED provides better maintained lumens and consistent color rendering verses integrated LED lamps available, as well as enhanced control, dimmability and longer lifespan. The Hornet HP A-14 LED Light Engine with spot distribution has been improved greatly, based on recent standard LM70 testing of the 18-watt model at a 3000K CCT. The lumen output increased to 1369 and the lumens per watt increased to 75lm/W, resulting in 18 percent gains in both output and efficacy. The CBCP also revealed an increase of 20 percent, delivering more than 12,200 CBCP.
"The new and improved version of our Hornet HP LED offers impressive value as it has been substantially upgraded with significant increases in output, efficiencies and quality, without increasing price points," explained Chuck Campagna, CEO and President of Amerlux. "These technology advancements will generate a substantial impact and incremental benefits on a wide range of upcoming commercial projects. Our latest Hornet LED light engine is the ideal solution that delivers energy saving lighting more efficiently than its halogen and metal halide counterparts, as well as other LED alternatives on the market today."
Precision engineered for thermal and optical performance, the Hornet HP harnesses and focuses LED lumens, delivering clean, crisp beams of light, with consistent benchmark color and punch. Life at 70 percent of initial lumen output is rated at 50,000 hours, which is more than 10-15 times longer than halogen and more than three times the life of 20-watt ceramic metal halide fixture, providing lower operating and maintenance costs with greater energy savings and better lumen maintenance over its life.
Using LEDs tightly binned to 3 macAdam elipses to minimize color variations from fixture to fixture, the Hornet HP deploys a variety of CCTs (warm 2200K to cool 4000K) and CRIs of up to 90-plus that deliver clean consistent beams free of striations, projected heat and UV/IR radiation, making it optimal for lighting color or heat sensitive merchandise. Die-cast aluminum constructed fixtures with no exposed wiring are available in Spot, Flood, Wide Flood and Linear Spread light distributions. Proprietary engineered heat sink and optical housing combine conduction, convection and radiation elements ensuring that heat is efficiently transferred away from the LEDs, allowing for superior thermal management, passive cooling and maximum luminaire life. Vertical tilt (0 to 90 degrees) and 360-degree rotation enable precise aiming.
Available with adapters designed for one-, two- and three-circuits, Hornet HP LED luminaires are engineered with an electronic constant current LED driver and can be mounted to a variety of 120-, 240- and 277-volt track systems used throughout North America and on the global market, as well as busways and canopies.
Accessories include a Double Bezel, which accommodates up to two forms of media; and a one-inch die cast aluminum Frontal Snoot, which accepts up to two forms of media. Media cartridges include the Hexcel Louver, Spread Lenses, Color Filters and Cross Blade for better glare control and cut-off for special effects.
Standard finishes include White Texture, Black Texture and Silver Texture, as well as custom color options with over 200 durable powder coat painted finishes from Amerlux's extensive palette, to complement nearly any design scheme.
All Hornet HP LED products are backed by a five-year limited warranty.
