Acuity Brands Showcases Luminaires Integrating LED and OLED Tech at LightFair Int’l 2015

Acuity Brands unveiled this week at LIGHTFAIR® International luminaires using its Duet SSL(TM) Technology, a new design concept that optimizes the performance of OLED and LED light sources in a single luminaire. The interplay of the two solid-state technologies effectively combines the focused and directed light benefits of LEDs with the soft, uniform glow of OLEDs, offering specifiers new and more dynamic ways for lighting a space.

"Duet SSL Technology is an innovative approach in lighting design, allowing light to be tailored to the needs of an individual, architecturally sensitive and engaging," said Jeannine Wang, Director Business Development, Acuity Brands Lighting. "By blending the best attributes of OLED and LED light sources, we believe these new-category defining luminaires will break boundaries enabling even more efficient and holistic design."

To demonstrate the benefits of Duet SSL Technology, Acuity Brands is showcasing in its LIGHTFAIR booth (#1640) two concept families, Imoni(TM) and Olessence(TM), in several form factors and applications. Each concept integrates OLED and LED technologies to create luminaires that blend both diffuse and focused illumination for aesthetic impact while maximizing photometric performance and superior lighting quality.

Live 10-minute presentations on Duet SSL Technology are being given every hour, on the hour, throughout the show.  LIGHTFAIR, which is currently taking place this week at the Javits Convention Center in New York City, is the world's largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference.

In 2014, Acuity Brands expanded its product lines by becoming one of the first lighting companies to offer energy-efficient OLED products, with a broad portfolio that inspires designers with unique form factors and new lighting application techniques.
