From using art from waste, featuring a dedicated Green Corner to the use of LED lighting and ECO wood and implementing a Green Programme, Grosvenor House - Dubai is at the forefront in championing sustainable initiatives in the hospitality sector of the Emirate.
As part of its commitment to promote energy use efficiency, minimise carbon dioxide emissions and create a sustainable built environment, Grosvenor House – Dubai chose GE's LED lighting solutions for both common area and guestrooms exclusively.
The result of the green initiative has been significant with impressive savings in project cost, energy usage, maintenance cost and carbon dioxide emissions.

The Challenge
Grosvenor House – Dubai was seeking a lighting solution that not only complements their architectural and interior design aesthetics but also fits with its ‘green policy.' In addition to providing the desirable lighting levels that maximize guest convenience, the hotel also aimed at reducing carbon emissions and improving all-round sustainability.
The key challenge in the project was to ensure that a diverse selection of LED lighting solutions had to be provided to substitute the halogen lamps.
In all, more than 24,500 halogen lamps were identified in the lighting audit, which had to be upgraded to LED by taking into consideration the unparalleled aesthetics of the property.

The Solution
GE Lighting stepped up to the challenge by partnering with Grosvenor House Dubai in offering sustainable LED lighting solutions. As the pioneer in LED technology, GE's extensive lighting solutions were an ideal fit to the hotel's requirements.
Proven to provide up to 80 per cent energy saving compared to traditional lamps, GE Lighting's LED solutions also offer high lumen/watt efficiency, long-rated lifetime, low failure rate and assures maintenance savings.
GE Lighting provided its Energy Smart range that is remarkable for its ability to set the desired ambience while saving energy. Today, the hotel's unparalleled lighting aesthetics is also supported by GE Lighting's LED solutions.

Results and Benefits
The total energy savings per year through the LED lighting solutions is around 80% with an 18 month of payback.
