Osram to Showcase High-power LED Lighting for Drones at Hanover Fair

“Start-up meets Grown-up” is the slogan chosen by Osram and the Berlin start-up company Bär-Drones for presenting their innovative concepts which will enable drones to be used for filming or for video monitoring of extensive areas. The promising results of this cooperation can be seen in the Digital Factory at booth C34 in Hall 7 during the Hanover fair which runs from April 25 to 29, 2016.

High output from a very small space

Drones that are used for filming or photography, or for monitoring or inspecting buildings have to rely in particularly powerful yet lightweight light sources. At the 2016 Hanover fair Osram is presenting such high-power light sources for use in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for the first time in the form of its Split Star S32 multi-chip and Zelion H LED modules. The particularly small and lightweight S32 multi-chip LED module features densely packed LED chips which produce an extremely high luminance of 140 cd/mm2 and a luminous flux of up to 15,000 lumen. With an output of 300 W the LED modules provide highly focused light and can be accommodated in the smallest of spaces.

The smart lighting solutions from Osram and Bär-Drones will be on display in the Digital Factory in Hall 7, booth C34 throughout the Hanover fair from April 25 to 29. More information will be provided at the joint press conference to be held at booth C34 in Hall 7 on April 25 at 1 pm.
