As one of the top five power supply vendors worldwide, FSP Group has built up many years of experience in the LED lighting sector. At this year LIGHTFAIR International (LFI) in San Diego from April 26 to 28, FSP will present its wide range of products related to outdoor industrial lighting, smart lighting and firmware solutions. The event will also mark the official entry of the company’s customized lighting solutions to the U.S. market.

FSP already made a splash at Light + Building Frankfurt trade fair in March in Germany with the launch of Advanced Dimming Solution. The company partners with European lighting leader Hella, jointly integrated intelligent modules within the power module. This solution enables temperature protection adjustment via the company’s communication protocol include DALI 1 and DALI 2 while it also allows communication via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Changing the temperature level in the power supply’s over-temperature protection or setting the automated dimming schedule is also very convenient because this product’s firmware can also be programmed remotely via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

FSP’s efforts in developing and marketing customized power supply units have been well-received in Europe, where the demand for such products are high. In the U.S., FSP intends to first offer standard products with slight modifications as to stimulate the demand for this niche segment. FSP hopes that the market share of customized products eventually will expand in the U.S. as the company continues to promote solutions similar to ones jointly developed with Hella.

Besides Advanced Dimming Solution, FSP will also display its Outdoor Power series products that certificated by UL Class 2 Power Unites this year. Ben Cheng, the manager of the company’s special LED projects, emphasized that their products are more reliable than the competitions and offers greater efficiency and durability.

FSP will also exhibit their standard lighting solutions at LFI. Mobile devices can now control lighting with a special app designed by the vendor. This innovative control system uses a Bluetooth connection in the frontend and DALI-based connection at the backend. The app therefore can linkup with the system’s gateway, from which commands will pass to the luminaire’s driver program via DALI. Thus, the app user will have direct control over the luminaire’s functions.

With the maturation of LED lighting technologies and the arrival of the Internet of Things, many lighting vendors focusing their product development efforts on smart lighting and control systems. FSP has a diverse range of firmware solutions. Ken Chen, the head the company’s LED division, said his team is committed to digitalization of their business through intensive R&D efforts, and they will continue to pursuit lighting solutions that offer lower wattage and higher lumens.
