Taking place annually in San Francisco, Photonics West 2018 is the world's largest event for the optoelectronics industry. HPL is one of the well-known manufacturers of UV LED and IR LED. It has sufficient experiences in cooperating with chip manufacturers, developing packaging products and designing optical system. By combining the above three main advantages, it develops UV and IR packaging products. The UV products have been applied in the curing market. The irradiance can reach 8W/cm2 at a distance of 10cm. IR LED products have also been shipped to NB and applied in the facial recognition market. According to the latest report from LEDinside, a division of the market research firm TrendForce, 2018 Industrial Lighting and High / Low Bay Light Market Report, the global LED industrial lighting market increases significantly as the stability and price of LED products are approaching the traditional metal-halide lamp. Europe takes up the largest market share in 2018, followed by China and America. In view of shipments, Chinese market accounts for the greatest proportion, mainly because the products from Chinese market are in lower prices. The global industrial lighting market scale comes to USD 3.934 billion in 2018, and expected to reach USD 5.687 billion in 2022, with CAGR of 10% during 2018-2022.

The light emitted by portable electronic devices (PEDs), particularly when used at night, has drawn a great deal of interest among sleep researchers, healthcare professionals, and the media. Research shows that exposure to light at night (LAN) may be associated with poor sleep and may lead to diminished alertness and performance throughout the day. Exposure to LAN can also acutely suppress melatonin, a hormone produced at night and in darkness, which tells the body it is nighttime. The short-wavelength “blue” light emitted by electronics can be especially disruptive to melatonin production, and the proximity to the eye when PEDs are in use only aggravates the threat to getting a good night’s sleep.
