Taiwanese LED Manufacturers Innovative Products at Lighting Japan 2015

Taiwanese LED manufacturers have set certain records at this year Lighting Japan 2015, which took place at Tokyo Big Sight recently. There were LED component and lighting manufacturers that were attending the show for the first time, and returning manufacturers.

At the Taiwan pavilion, many manufacturers were displaying LED projectors, and most manufacturers had benefited from LED module ODM and OEM. Manufacturers supplied both LED and UV LED substrates. Taiwanese manufacturers also reported stellar performances in handheld LED spectrometer devices sold to technicians and designers.

Taiwanese LED manufacturer Optotech had the largest booth at the pavilion. Compared to most manufacturers’ display of LED technology and luminaires at the expo, Optotech displayed small pitch high resolution LED displays, and transparent LED displays, said the company Chairman Yongqiang Huang. These products can be applied effectively in commercial or public spaces.

UPRtek was another Taiwanese manufacturer with a very big display area. The company’s handheld spectrometers attracted a lot of attention from Japanese manufacturers engineers and technicians, and the company’s new products can test glare and have introduced new international lighting standards Color Quality Scale (CQS), which offers an alternative to Color Rendering Index (CRI). The new products have also become more convenient, as it can directly compare two different light sources on the handheld devices, and does not require transmitting data back to a computer for analysis operations.

Taiwanese LED manufacturer Gia Tzoong Enterprise, which set up a subsidiary PSC Electronics in Jiangmen, China, displayed new substrate designs and cooper substrates that are supplied to different clients. The company is mainly targeting Asian manufacturing supply chain, where it has reported good performances.

Professional LED light source and luminaire supplier, Mean Well, was represented by a Japanese agent at the show. The company’s power source can be found in many manufacturers displayed at the show.

K-Source Technology displayed many LED luminaires including LED spot lights and tubes.

Another manufacturer Bueno Optoelectronics mainly displayed LED tubes, panels and high bay lights. The company is cooperating with COTAC on the Japanese market to brand its products on the local market, and is mainly responsible for the R&D and design of the products.

Solar New Power has been very active in the Japanese market, and has even established a local subsidiary to manage its distribution channels in Japan. The company believes Taiwanese manufacturers should focus on high quality and highly profitable markets and avoid market competition in low profit markets. The company displayed LED spotlights that incorporated excellent COB packages, and showcased LED tubes.

This is the first time that LED desk lamp manufacturer TimesStar attended Lighting Japan. The company faced a slightly disadvantageous situation, since most of the displays in the zone were focused on innovative technology or components. Still many visitors inquired about a LED desk lamp with timepiece features.

Taiwanese manufacturer Lucemitek’s UV LED substrates made from nanotechnology, received a lot of attention from technicians and manufacturers on the Japanes market. UV LED market is a relatively large market in Japan, and requires many important LED components.

Shunchi Technology was very successful at last year’s Lighting Japan, and their LED high bay lights were featured in expo reports, the products have even made its way into Japan’s public sector. At this year’s expo, the company highlighted LED fishing lights that can be submerged 20 meters under water, which requires the luminaires to have high water resilience and pressure management. The fishing lights also attracted much attention from visitors.

A frequent participant at international expos, Taiwanese manufacturer GlacialTech’s thermal dissipation products, LED high bay lights, and spot lights attracted much attention from visitors.

In automotive applications, Keeper Tech mainly displayed LED lumianires targeting the aftermarket. The company also formed a partnership with car manufacturers at the show, and has made contact with traders and distributors at the show.
