LG and Lufthansa to Set up Joint Venture for Aircraft Displays and Systems

LG Electronics and Lufthansa Technik AG have announced that they are going to establish a joint venture to develop, produce and market LG's OLED displays for commercial airplane cabins.

By combining LG’s technology in OLED displays and Lufthansa’s aviation business capabilities, the joint venture aims to create new markets for on-board aircraft applications such as welcome board screens and interior linings. The new venture will be based in Hamburg, Germany and start its commercial operation in the first half of 2019.

"We are very excited to be joining hands with Lufthansa Technik to expand the reach of LG's innovative consumer electronic technologies to commercial aircrafts," said Soon Kwon, president of the LG Business-to-Business Company.
