Signify Acquires Animal-centric Lighting Companies to Expand Agricultural Lighting

Signify announced that it has acquired two animal lighting specialist Once and iLOX to strengthen its agricultural lighting business. The transactions are expected to close in the second quarter of 2019. Signify did not reveal financial details about the transactions.

Once is a based in Minnesota, USA who provide animal-centricl lighting system for agriculture applications. It announced acquisition of the German-based iLOX and its Polish subsidiary in June, 2018. The companies design and manufacture tailor-made lighting systems to improve the quality of life for livestock, leading to healthier and enhanced production.


With this acquisition, Signify aims to increase technology and expertise in animal lighting that complements the company’s horticulture lighting.
