Toshiba Corporation announced a new lineup of photocouplers that are expected to begin production in August of this year. The TLP2361 and TLP2161 couplers have a transfer speed of 15Mbps and low powered consumption.
Combining with Toshiba’s high-output and highly reliable IR LEDs, this product is able to achieve a low threshold input current that is 54% lower than that of similar products. This type of LED has a stable output in hot environments up to 125°C (with an industry rating of 2). The use of the Bi-CMOS process allows it to maintain a current no greater than 1mA (largest channel) allowing the consumption rate for the current of TLP2361 and TLP216 to be around 66% and 60%.
TLP2361 uses small packaging providing 5mm of freedom and creepage space, satisfying the overseas safety standards (EN60747-5-5) for level 3 insulation. The TLP2161 has two built-in circuits in their SO8 packaging, eliminating the packaging area by 40%. This encourages the drop in cost for the use of streamlined printed circuit boards.
