Soraa Expands into Directional Luminaires

Soraa, a specialist in GaN on GaN™ LED technology and illuminator of the world’s most renowned historical buildings, museums, hotels, and luxury shops, announces their expansion into the directional luminaire market. Soraa’s LED technology allows the slimmest, most versatile luminaires in the industry. “We invented perfect, full spectrum light and now we’re applying that same passion and expertise to design and invent products that haven’t existed until today,” says Jeff Parker, Chief Executive Officer of Soraa. “Soraa manufactures the smallest, most powerful LEDs and we intend to use our unique light source to design and develop smaller, more powerful luminaires, giving our customers truly unique lighting solutions.”

Designed from the Inside Out

We are proud to introduce Soraa Arc™, the combination of perfect light and modern form. Boldly designed and built around the slimmest profile die-cast heat sink in the industry, Arc is optimized for superior thermal management and features the high quality of light you’ve come to expect from Soraa—an unmatched balance of full spectrum color and white rendering; superior light distribution; and clean beams delivering beautiful light across a multitude of applications.

“Having recently previewed the Arc directional fixtures, our customers are thrilled to now have an end-to-end solution from Soraa they can rely on for a wide range of applications,” says George Stringer, Senior VP of Sales at Soraa. “And because we can now offer our customers a fully integrated, ultra-thin design with the added benefit of guaranteed compatibility and best-in-class dimming, we see specifiers beginning to re-think the way they design, by emphasizing rather than hiding luminaires.”

Soraa Arc will initially be offered in track, pendant, downlight, and surface mounted designs as well as with fixture SNAP accessories, including trims, Snoot and wall washes in a variety of colors. Color temperatures will include 2700K, 3000K and 4000K. All Arc luminaires feature Soraa VIVID™ COB light engines with full spectrum 95CRI, R9>95 and Rw 100 typical. Black and white finishes are standard; custom colors are available on request. Arc luminaires with 9°, 10° and 15° beam spreads are also compatible with the existing Soraa SNAP SYSTEM™ to further customize beam and light color.

“Soraa’s core GaN on GaN technology is what makes us different than every other LED company in the world,” says Susan Larson, Vice President at Soraa responsible for the Fixture business and the design lead for Soraa Arc, “It’s the science behind our technology that gave my team the ability to design shallow fixtures, small apertures and narrow clean beams, unmatched by anyone else. This is why the Soraa Arc family is so unique, versus other directional fixtures on the market today.”
