Celebrate Earth Awareness Month By Going LampFree

There is no better time to acknowledge how your choices impact the protection of the environment than during Earth Awareness Month, observed in April each year since 1970. Earth Awareness Month, which culminates with the celebration of Earth Day on April 22, is celebrated to demonstrate support of environmental concerns and remind citizens to appreciate our precious planet Earth.

Casio America, Inc. continues to do its part by offering innovative products that are also eco-conscious, such as its lineup of LampFree® projectors. The affordably priced projectors are powered by Casio's hybrid light source technology which offers eco-friendly data projection at home, in the classroom or on-the-go.

"These days, educators, businesses and consumers alike are taking a closer look at their environmental impact," said Joe Gillio, Senior Director Strategic Planning and Marketing of Casio's Business Projector Division. "Casio's LampFree projectors help to lessen the hazardous waste made from the hundreds of thousands of mercury lamps that get deposited into landfills every year, making it an eco-friendly projection choice."

Casio's Ultra Short Throw models, XJ-UT351W and XJ-UT351WN, feature a mercury-free Laser and LED hybrid light source developed by Casio, which has a service life of up to 20,000 hours without the need to change a lamp. For use in schools, this corresponds to an operating lifetime of up to 18 years, during which the projector is running for an average of six hours a day during a 180-day school year.

Not only do users save on lamp replacements and the costs of disposing hazardous Mercury lamps, they save money on electricity as well. When using Casio LampFree projectors with the Eco-mode on, users can save up to 50 percent of energy costs compared to a conventional projector with mercury-vapor lamps.

New models are equipped with a brightness control sensor that senses the ambient light in the room and automatically adjusts the projector to the optimal brightness level, reducing energy consumption when high brightness is not needed.
