Shanghai Wellmax Lighting Industry (WELLMAX) focuses on the design and manufacture of LED indoor lighting products. The company offers professional OEM/ODM/SKD LED solutions and branding/marketing support to clients. WELLMAX was founded in 1987 in China, and now becomes a major exporter of LED bulbs in Shanghai, selling to over 58 countries worldwide. The company has long-term partnership with famous lighting brands across the globe.

WELLMAX started its lighting business as a foreign trade company, and invested its first incandescent bulb factory in Anhui province in 2000. From 2004, the company stepped into LED lighting field, and became OEM for various brands worldwide. In 2013, WELLMAX’s patented product series – the Sunrise LED series – was rolled out to global markets. At present, the monthly shipment of LED bulbs reaches around 7 million pieces.

According to Mr. Yamin Wang, following the fast growth of LED bulb business, the company has been paying great attention to technology innovation and market expansion. In 2014, it received 18 patents for A60 LED bulb series, and established its South America headquarter in Brazil in 2015. On March 1st, 2016, WELLMAX signed a comprehensive strategic partnership MOU with Samsung Electronics. The MOU identifies WELLMAX as Samsung Electronics’ first ingredient brand global partner. WELLMAX is the first and so far the only company that receives Samsung’s ingredient brand authorization in China. The partnership enables WELLMAX to solve the patent issue of LED chip technology, provide IP protection and even better quality guarantee to clients worldwide.

In terms of market distribution, Mr. Wang mentioned that currently Europe still accounts for the highest proportion around 50%. Yet businesses in emerging markets such as South America, Southeast Asia and the Middle East are rising rapidly. WELLMAX has built strong relationships with local giants in these markets by becoming their major ODM company. What’s more, with the existing partnership with Samsung Electronics, WELLMAX also intends to enter the U.S. market.

The company is dedicated in developing advanced bulb products. After forming the partnership with Samsung, WELLMAX have successfully released three brand new product series. At the GILE, new LED product series Aero LED bulbs were debuted. The bulb achieves lower-cost but distinctly visible higher luminous efficacy, and also features a unique shape and innovative heat dissipation solution. In addition, WELLMAX’s Ultron product drew great attention during the exhibition. The bulb adopts high heat resistant PC and aluminum with nanotechnology thermal conductive paint, and has the viewing angle of 360° and can reach 810lm with the smallest body.

The Ultron LED bulb attracts numerous attentions from participants on the exhibition site.

As a global lighting company, WELLMAX is quite optimistic and confident about the future development of the LED lighting market. With the technical support from Samsung advanced LED chip and the unique R&D capability and supply-chain management from WELLMAX, the company’s lighting revenue is expected to reach around 77 million USD in 2016, with approximately 15-20% growth rate compared to last year, said Mr. Wang.
