LG has shown off the 72-inch LZ9700 LED TV, which is considered as the world’s biggest 3D full LED TV. It measures in at 59 inches wide and 40 inches tall. with LG's smart technologies, it allow users to access information online by using the contents cube feature.   Additionally, users can access YouTube and Google's Picasa and get further connectivity with a smart Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) function.

Recently, LG’s LED lighting and Plasma Lighting System (PLS) products has received official certifications from European, Chinese, Japanese and Korean governments for energy efficiency, quality, safety and eco-friendliness. Based on these certifications, LG will kick off a global roll-out of its newest green business initiative as a total lighting solution provider.

LG Electronics starts to sell 10 LED LCD TVs, including three premium FULL LED LCD TVs with 42, 47 and 55 inch screens and seven edge-lit LED LCD models with screen sizes ranging from 22 to 42 inches in Japan from November 19. Over 60 retail stores in major cities such as Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya will adopt LG TV models. The LX9500, a "Best of Innovation" award winner at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, is placed at the top of the company's line-up.

LG Kicks off to roll out the world's largest commercial 3D LED-backlit TV . It has released 72-inch 72LEX9 widescreen in Korea with a 480Hz True Motion panel, DLNA connectivity, and now-typical support for plenty of online sites and programs such as YouTube. It's reported that this behemoth of a display is poised to ship during the second quarter of 2011. However,the  prices are still not disclosed.

LG Electronics has launched a 72-inch 3-D-equipped LED TV in the South Korea market. The new LED TV model features the largest screen among the 3-D LED TVs available in the market. The new product is priced at 20 million won (US$17,825). According to the company spokesman Park Young-shin, the 72-inch TV will be launched in the global market early in 2011.

LG has released the Xnote A510 3D, which is considered as the "world's first" near full HD 3D laptop. The Xnote A510 is capable of converting 2D content into 3D. LG also includes a pair of clip-on 3D lenses for "regular glasses-wearers."

South Korea LG Electronic schedules to take at least a 10 per cent share in Japan's LED TV market within three years.

South Korea’s LG will be showing off its latest slim 31-inch OLED TV at 2010 IFA Consumer Electronics Show in Berlin.

In early 2009, after Samsung invested a large budget in promoting the new concept of LED TV, the market witnessed a surge in the replacement of new generation television. According to LEDinside’s latest market trend report, the total shipment of LED-backlit TVs in 2009 was about 3.5 million sets. Of that, Samsung was on the top with more than 70% share; followed by Sharp and LG. Notably, in the first wave of LED-backlit TV competition, shipment ratio of the two Korean companies accounted for 80% of the total.

LG Electronics (LG), a major player in the global flat panel display and AV markets, unveiled its plans to achieve the top global position in the TV market with a fundamental shift in the way viewers consume content, from simply watching TV to “using TV”.

LG said it plans to give a push to its LED TV sales by launching more advanced versions of it in 2010 and expects to sell up to 300 thousand units by the end of 2010. Amitabh Tiwari, LG Electronics India Head of Sales, said "LED TV is one of the focused areas of the company. We will launch more advanced ones in the first half of 2010." He said the company expects the segment to contribute about 20 percent of its turnover by the end of 2010. At present, LED TVs account for less than four percent of its overall sales.

Everlight Electronics Co., Ltd., the leading LED packaging company in Taiwan, Robert Yeh (chairman of the firm) is quite optimistic about a brighter market outlook for LED in 2010 than 2009.

Eastman Kodak Company announced Dec. 4 that it would sell substantially all the assets associated with its OLED business to a group of LG companies, and had entered into a technology cross-license agreement with LG Electronics, Inc., which will allow each company broad access to the other’s patent portfolio.

LG Electronics, the world's No.2 TV vendor, said Sunday that it would launch a 15-inch OLED TV in September at the IFA 2009 consumer electric show in Berlin. Comparing with traditional LCD displays, AM-OLED displays are thinner, more energy efficient and can provide better picture quality, while the high price has kept it from becoming a mass-produced technology.

LG Electronics has recently launched its new LH90 series HDTVs to the U.S. market. The new series are the first LCDs to receive THX Display Certification in the U.S. market, the company claimed.  

LG Innotek Co Ltd, an electronic component branch of LG Electronics, is planning to aggressively increase its investment in the blooming LED business and may require outside funding, the Reuters reports, citing senior executives of the company.

LG Electronics is fighting back against Samsung's growing grip on the crucial new growth engine in the LED television market, according to an article on The Korea Times. Luminus Devices Inc. and LG Electronics yesterday announced that Luminus’ PhlatLight LEDs are powering the LG HS-200G, a new ultra-mobile projector that delivers increased brightness, performance and reliability. Luminus and LG previously announced an agreement through which PhlatLight LEDs power the HS-102 pocket projector. LG is demonstrating the new HS-200G in Booth #5321 at the InfoComm Conference 2009, June 17-19, in Orlando, Florida.

At SID Display Week 2009, LG Display Co Ltd of Korea exhibited a “rugged” 15-inch OLED panel. And the company had surprised the visitors by showing a demonstration video in which the panel was repeatedly being hit with a mallet to prove its toughness.

LG Display Co., Ltd. announced Tuesday that it has succeeded in developing the world’s thinnest 42- and 47-inch LCD TV panels. The 42- and 47-inch LCD TV panels employ LG Display’s edge-lit LED backlight system instead of the commonly used CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) to realize a panel thickness of 5.9mm.

LED TV, the latest high-end technology product in TV market, is to be available in India within the next few months, as Samsung, LG, Panasonic and TCL all targeting to release their products in this market soon.
