LG has shown off the 72-inch LZ9700 LED TV, which is considered as the world’s biggest 3D full LED TV. LG to sell 10 LED LCD TVs in Japan

LG Electronics starts to sell 10 LED LCD TVs, including three premium FULL LED LCD TVs with 42, 47 and 55 inch screens and seven edge-lit LED LCD models with screen sizes ranging from 22 to 42 inches in Japan from November 19. Over 60 retail stores in major cities such as Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya will adopt LG TV models. The LX9500, a "Best of Innovation" award winner at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, is placed at the top of the company's line-up.

LG Electronics Launches New 72-inch 3-D-equipped LED TV in South Korea

LG Electronics has launched a 72-inch 3-D-equipped LED TV in the South Korea market. The new LED TV model features the largest screen among the 3-D LED TVs available in the market. The new product is priced at 20 million won (US$17,825). According to the company spokesman Park Young-shin, the 72-inch TV will be launched in the global market early in 2011.

The demand of LED package for TVs will jump 450% to reach 9.36 billion units in 2010, says LEDinside

In early 2009, after Samsung invested a large budget in promoting the new concept of LED TV, the market witnessed a surge in the replacement of new generation television. According to LEDinside’s latest market trend report, the total shipment of LED-backlit TVs in 2009 was about 3.5 million sets. Of that, Samsung was on the top with more than 70% share; followed by Sharp and LG. Notably, in the first wave of LED-backlit TV competition, shipment ratio of the two Korean companies accounted for 80% of the total.

LG plans to push LED TV sales, aims to sell 300 thousand units by the end of 2010

LG said it plans to give a push to its LED TV sales by launching more advanced versions of it in 2010 and expects to sell up to 300 thousand units by the end of 2010. Amitabh Tiwari, LG Electronics India Head of Sales, said "LED TV is one of the focused areas of the company. We will launch more advanced ones in the first half of 2010." He said the company expects the segment to contribute about 20 percent of its turnover by the end of 2010. At present, LED TVs account for less than four percent of its overall sales.
