Walmart to Acquire AR Startup Memomi

Few days ago, Walmart announced that it has reached an agreement to buy AR technology developer Memomi, aiming to fulfil its commitment to frictionless and omnichannel optical care. The acquisition is scheduled to be accomplished in the coming weeks, after which Memomi employees will join the Walmart Global Tech organization. Since 2019, Memomi has provided digital measurement services for all the Walmart and Sam’s Optical customers across 2,800+ Walmart Vision Centers and 500 Sam’s Clubs.
