Philips Automotive North America, a division of Royal Philips, has released its new line of Philips LED Headlamps for direct replacement applications on a wide range of vehicles with traditional 5 x 7 in. rectangular and 7 in. round sealed beam headlamps. A recent report by mainstream Chinese media CCTV revealing “LEDs without diffusers can cause blindness within 10 seconds” in a TV program generated much interest in China. However, studies cited in the report have been taken out of context, according to a Chinese LED test laboratory report.
