French Photographer Creates Stunning Light Painting with LED Kites

Francois Beaurain, a French photographer, sculptor, and illustrator has made light painting possible by adding LEDs to kites, according to a report by the Creator’s Project.

During the day the kites images are recorded using overlapping timelapse.

During the day the kite’s trajectory is recorded over overlapping timelapse to form the images as seen above for his LED Sky Painting series.

At night, the LED kite movements every swoop and loop is tracked with a long-exposure camera to form the symmetrical abstract patterns.
