Larson Electronics Reveals New Low Profile Fixture for Hazardous Locations

Larson Electronics has revealed their new low profile LED lighting fixture for hazardous locations.

The HAL-24-16W-LED-1227 is designed to provide a high output and ruggedly durable hazardous area lighting solution for applications where Class 1 Division 2 compliance is required

The HAL-24-16W-LED-1227 is designed to provide a high output and ruggedly durable hazardous area lighting solution for applications where Class 1 Division 2 compliance is required. This explosion proof linear strip light can be operated on 120 to 240 volt AC voltages and includes 6 feet of SOOW cable and is terminated in a 5-15 explosion proof straight blade plug. Constructed of powder coated extruded aluminum for strength and durability, it is rated IP54 for protection against exposure to splashing water and limited dust ingress.

These units are configured in a 24.9" long strip or "bar" profile for installation in locations where wide dispersal and a low profile is preferred. The high output, cool running operation, and good color rendering properties of this light make it an ideal replacement for older, bulkier, and less reliable HID and halogen light fixtures.

The LEDs in this unit are Cree X-Lamp XR-E units that have been chosen for their high lumen per watt ratio and extreme long life. These Cree LEDs provide over 90 lumens per watt output and have a 70% lumen retention at 50,000 hours, giving them better efficiency and operational life than comparable LEDs. This light is ideal for indoor or outdoor applications and industrial operations with hazardous location classification where dusty or wet conditions are commonly encountered. It is ideal for cabinet or oil change pit lighting or other cramped and confined spaces because of it Class 1 Division 2 compliance.

“Safety is always paramount when you are considering lighting solutions for hazardous locations,” Rob Bresnahan said. “This fixture provides optimal output and safety for lots of different commercial and industrial applications.”
