Everlight to Acquire Second European Luminaire Manufacturer

LED package manufacturer Everlight has been actively developing their LED lighting brand, according to the Economic Daily News. The company merged with Germany luminaire manufacturer WOFI for less than NT $400 million (US $13.3 million) last year, which adds an extra NT $100 million to its monthly revenues. Everlight has recently announced plans to acquire another European luminaire manufacturer this year to continue expanding the company’s market presence.

LED lighting clients all have specific manufacturers that they work with in different regions, said Everlight. Additionally, clients are more dispersed. Companies therefore must have distribution channels to be able to enter the lighting market. Everlight’s main goal is to establishi distribution channels in China.

In addition to expanding their LED luminaire market presence, Everlight is also crossing over into automotive electronics. The company has already received orders from three large Japanese and European automotive manufacturers. Shipments are anticipated to begin in the third quarter.
