LED Roadway Lighting Appoints Peter Conlon as New CEO

LED Roadway Lighting Ltd. (LRL) is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Conlon as Chief Executive Officer. The announcement completes the transition of the Company’s founder Charles Cartmill, who will retain his majority ownership stake in the company and his position on the Board of Directors. “With the appointment of Mr. Conlon as CEO and the recent appointment of Denis Lavoie as Company President, I feel confident that the business is in excellent hands and feel comfortable in stepping back to enjoy my retirement from the day-to-day operations.” Cartmill was President and CEO of LRL from its beginning in 2002 and oversaw its growth from a small start-up to a global manufacturer of LED street light products and control solutions with 240 employees.

Formerly, Conlon held positions with a number of successful technology companies in Canada, the United States and Mexico. He is a certified Director (Institute of Corporate Directors) and has held roles on a number of Boards. “Peter’s credentials speak for themselves. He is the right person to take our business to the next level. The Board and I have every confidence in his abilities and feel this is a positive step in the evolution of our growing business”, Cartmill said.

Conlon stated, “LRL is the most exciting company in Nova Scotia and I am pleased by the vote of confidence that Chuck and the Board have expressed in me. I am tremendously excited to work closely with the team assembled by one of Nova’s Scotia most successful entrepreneurs. We will work diligently to continue LRL’s success in the global marketplace.”
