“SYLVANIA general lighting has been showcased at LIGHTFAIR since its inception almost 30 years ago, and we are excited to share where the SYLVANIA product brand is going in the future,” said Jes Munk Hansen, CEO of LEDVANCE. “Last summer, we became fully independent from OSRAM and brought the history and heritage of more than a hundred years of lighting expertise to a new, entrepreneurial organization. Today, LEDVANCE is a global company active across 120 countries and with close to 9,000 employees.”

At LFI, LEDVANCE will showcase over 100 new SYLVANIA LED products across its broad portfolio including:

  • SYLVANIA SubstiTUBE IPS LED T8 Tubes – First full family with the long 60,000 hour (L70) life, making these the most effective, long-life retrofit solution of its kind, and with a traditional form factor – a glass body with metal end caps identical to fluorescent lamps which makes them ideal for spot re-lamping.
  • SYLVANIA LEDlescent T8 Ballast-Free Lamps – First full family of LED T8 lamps able to be installed “directly” to 120-277V line voltage and bypass the existing ballast. These simplify installation since they eliminate ballast compatibility issues and the need for ballast maintenance. These are one of the safest retrofit solutions for internal driver that are available in the market while maintaining the fixture look and providing fast installation.
  • Additions to the recently launched and popular portfolio of standardized indoor and outdoor luminaires, such as the SYLVANIA LEDVANCE Linear High Bay LED Luminaires. The multiple power levels and beam distributions of the new industrial luminaire make it capable of lighting any facility. The integrated sensor enables superior system functionality with maximum energy savings up to 66 percent compared to traditional HID luminaires that use up to 400 watts.
  • Commercial smart lighting products such as the SYLVANIA Smart+ Tunable White Edge-lit Panels, High output Full Color Downlights, Tunable White MR16s and a variety of Switches and Sensors that can seamlessly automate your environment. There will also be hub free HomeKit-enabled SYLVANIA Smart+ products to easily transform hospitality and residential applications. These all offer the electrical industry easy to install and use products to capitalize on the growing demand for smart lighting.

Hansen said, “Recently, we welcomed a consortium of investors – including one of the world’s leading producers of LED components, MLS – as our new owners. We are combining our individual strengths to expand our positions as global leaders in the lighting industry. Together, we shine brighter and are dedicated to continuing to meet the evolving needs of our customers in a truly dynamic market.”

“Our core values - Breaking New Ground, Striving for Excellence and Winning Together - drive us each and every day to help our customers grow their business with the SYLVANIA general lighting they know and trust. I personally invite everyone at LIGHTFAIR to see how we are bringing those values to life to advance the role of light in a connected world,” said Hansen.
