LiDAR News: RoboSense Partners ControlWorks to Enter the Korean Market; Seoul Robotic Releases 3D Perception Platform for LiDAR Sensors

Last week has been busy for LiDAR related technology builders all over the world. Seoul Robotics, a South Korea-based perception software developer for autonomous system, introduced a new 3D perception platform compatible for 3D LiDAR sensors. Meanwhile, China-based RoboSense announced partnership with automotive electronics system provider ControlWorks for Koreans OEMs.

Seoul Robotics revealed SENSR, which is the industrial-grade software solution that provides scalable 3D perception and can integrate multiple different LiDAR sensors. According to the company, the SENSR can quickly understand 3D LiDAR data in diverse environments with its patented and proprietary AI algorithm providing fundamental object processing such as detection, classification, tracking, and prediction. The system also fuses data from different types of LiDARs to help the computer understand the environment without having to rely on a previously built HD-map. SENSR enables a wide range of applications such as detecting intruders for security systems to predicting the distance to pedestrians on a crosswalk for autonomous driving applications.

On the other hand, RoboSense announced its cooperation with ControlWorks, a automotive electronics systems maker in Korea. ControlWorks will provide RoboSense's Smart LiDAR Sensor Systems to Korean OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and others with localized sales channels, product services and technical support for the Korean market. RoboSense's autonomous perception systems consist of advanced LiDAR hardware and AI point cloud perception algorithms can output in real-time environment information from the 3D point cloud.

Targeted to Level 3+ mass production passenger cars, RoboSense provides Smart Sensors based on the RS-LiDAR-M1, a MEMS solid-state LiDAR. The mass production version of the M1, to be provided to OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, will have a built-in dedicated computing chip to run RoboSense’s proprietary AI point cloud perception RS-LiDAR-Algorithms, outputting the environment-perception results in real-time. Currently, ControlWorks has integrated RoboSense’s perception system RS-Fusion-P3 system in their autonomous driving system, and they are planning to integrate RoboSense's solid-state LiDAR RS-LiDAR-M1 in their next stage of testing.
