Littman Brands’ 2012 Collections Debut at Dallas International Lighting Market

New Collections Electrify World’s Largest Wholesale Merchandise Mart

The Littman Brands, renowned for high-quality lighting solutions, debuted the highly awaited 2012 collections of five brands during Dallas International Lighting Market from Jan. 19-23, 2012. The never-before-seen collections from Hudson Valley Lighting®, Troy Lighting, Corbett Lighting, Troy Landscape and CSL® (Creative Systems Lighting) wowed thousands of buyers who visited the manufacturer’s expansive 17,000 square-foot showroom (#3902) at Dallas Market Center during the five-day show.

Among the anticipated highlights of the new collections:

• Corbett Lighting and its 2012 lighting collections are creating drama once again with dazzling art deco influences, spiraling silhouettes, gold accents galore and incorporation of high performance LEDs. For example, the gold-leaf Spellbound uses a high powered and ultra thin LED in the fixture and it takes its cue from 1950s-inspired orbit chic with a flat-edged, widely spaced spiral fixture and bold diagonal that runs through its center. Marrying art deco elements from the 1930s and 40s while incorporating LED technology with incandescent lighting, Harlow is characterized by a cool, understated color palette of stainless steel, neutral tones and multifaceted “diamond” accents incorporated into the stem and base. In a departure from Corbett Lighting’s exclusively decorative leanings, the new recessed downlight, Quasar, proves that high-tech LED lighting can be both decorative and functional, thanks to its astro-inspired bronze trim and textured lens.

• Best known for sophisticated casual style, Troy Lighting, stays true to its roots while eschewing the boundaries between traditional and contemporary. Brooklyn, for example, puts a new twist on a classic by relying on urban elements and unusual materials. Suspended from a base of rope and chain link, Brooklyn’s charm lies in the details: pronounced edges, vintage style pulley and filament Edison-style bulbs. Cut from the same design cloth, Menlo Park also serves as an ode to the industrial age with turnbuckle style cables, wrought iron circular base and delicate glass insulators.

• Turning its demure, modern sophistication up a notch this year, Hudson Valley Lighting breaks new ground with its first-ever portable collection—easily one of the season’s most anticipated debuts. With portables, Hudson Valley Lighting ensures even greater flexibility and choices in lamping, all while embracing the brand’s hallmark traits of exquisite detailing, fine finishes and handsome designs that transition with an array of decor styles. An estimated forty new portable lamps will be “inducted” into the collection, all of which are new original designs, not extensions of existing collections. Moving to Hudson Valley Lighting’s hard-wired decorative collections, Danville embodies the brand’s enduring talent for pairing classic elements with original design. The combination of fine crystal, encircled stainless steel frame and open, airy construction give Danville unusual depth, lightness and drama—pure Hudson Valley Lighting.

David Littman, Chairman/CEO of Littman Brands and the visionary behind all subsidiary brands, said of the 2012 collections: “Our new collections are testaments to our passion for quality and design, and our commitment to fostering creativity and ongoing technical innovation. Today, we have more product diversity, more original artistry and more energy-efficient and LED product offerings than we ever have before. We want to be known as a game-changer in the lighting industry, and we have done that by pushing the lines of design and performance this year. It’s the reason why Littman Brands continue to be the lighting resources of choice for designers and specifiers today.”
