PTTC would defer the planned expansion

Recently, a leader of Taiwan-based PTTC (passive device maker Polytronics Technology) noted, with lower demand, the company would delay the scheduled expansion to the end of 1Q11, which had planed to expand its monthly production ability for TCBs (thermal conductive boards) used in LED backlight units of LCD TVs to 100,000 square meters in the end of 2010.

PTTC thought the global demand for LED-backlit LCD TVs to begin to significantly grow in 2Q11. So, the company moved back the expansion at its existing factory and planed to build a new factory in in April-May 2011.

At present, PTTC provided 1W, 2W, 4W and 8W TCBs to use in LED backlight units and planed to offer 12W models for LED lighting products in the future.
