Chicago Based Company Lands First Business Agreement with Brasilia’s New Administration

Agreement expected to create green-tech jobs in both Illinois and Brazil

PolyBrite International, Inc., a Chicago, IL based developer of energy efficient LED lamps and light systems, announced that on March 11, 2011, it signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement (TCA) with the Federal District Government of Brasilia, Brazil.  This is the first TCA entered into by Governor Agnelo Queiroz’s new administration.  The Federal District desires to implement an energy efficient street lighting system prior to the 2014 FIFA World Cup.  In support of the Agreement, PolyBrite is expected to create jobs in both Illinois and Brasilia.

Carl Scianna, President and CEO of PolyBrite International, Inc. said, “This is just the beginning of an important relationship between PolyBrite and the Government of Brasilia.  We see Brasilia as the launching pad for PolyBrite’s energy efficient products to be distributed throughout the South American markets.”

PolyBrite plans to install a high-tech LED lighting system assembly facility in the Federal District of Brasilia.  The facility will assemble PolyBrite’s energy efficient LED products for use throughout the Federal District of Brasilia, Brazil and the rest of South America.  PolyBrite’s LED products provide both a superior quality of light, a reduction in energy consumption and overall cost.

The TCA is the result of a trip to Brasilia by a delegation of Illinois businesses.  The delegation consisted of Carl Scianna and former United States Speaker of the House, Dennis Hastert representing PolyBrite International, Inc.; Bruce Graham representing Johnson Controls, Inc. and Edward Mattox representing Inland Electric.  The delegation met with Governor of Brasilia, Agnelo Queiroz; Salviano Guimaraes Borges of International Advisory Office of Brasilia; and other Brazilian business leaders.
