Lumex: QuasarBrite High Temp 7-Segment LED Displays Provide Market-Leading Temperature Ranges up to 105˚C

Lumex announces the global launch of its QuasarBrite High-Temperature Seven-Segment numeric LED Display technology capable of providing bright, crisp display performance in market-leading temperature ranges up to 105°C.

The new high-temp seven-segment ¼ watt LED displays are available in sizes from 0.28 inch to 4 inch character height and come with complementary integration support from Lumex´s team of Technical Design Specialists.

QuasarBrite High-Temperature Seven-Segment LED Displays are compatible with standard drivers and are ideal for a wide range of applications that require performance in extreme heat conditions including:

  • industrial control device technology (oil field and gas flow metering, drive control displays for heavy motor control technologies and welding assembly line equipment);
  • military applications (including aircraft, ground vehicles, GPS and walkie-talkie systems)
  • appliances (including displays on ovens, microwaves, and dishwashers)

“Whereas standard seven-segment LED displays can operate at temperatures up to 85°C, the new specialty epoxy used in the reflector allows the new Lumex high-temp technology to provide outstanding color and brightness performance at up to 105°C which is unique in the industry,” explained Jeff Oliveros, Director of Engineering at Lumex.

QuasarBrite High-Temperature Seven-Segment LED Displays are available in any color and come with complimentary integration support. Lumex´s team of Technical Design Specialists help customers integrate the new QuasarBrite High-Temperature Seven-Segment LED Displays with switches, resistors, IC driver chips, capacitors and other technologies required to create a complete interface board solution. This complimentary integration support generates cost savings, speeds time to market and reduces opportunity for product failure due to integration issues.

The RoHs compliant QuasarBrite High-Temperature Seven-Segment LED Displays cost approximately $0.69 to $3.50 per unit in production quantities dependent on size and quantity ordered. The standard 1 and 2 digit, .30” and .56”, red and green displays are available in stock from Lumex’s strategic distribution partners, including Digi-Key and Mouser, immediately. Standard lead time is six weeks.
