LG Electronics unveils new LED 3D TV featuring ‘Nano’ Lighting at IFA 2010

LG Electronics of South Korea has unveiled its new ultra thin LED-Backlit 3D TV based on LG’s next gen flat Panel featuring NANO lighting technology at the recently held 2010 Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin.

LG Electronics explained “nano” lighting enables the LEDs to be placed directly against the panel, and this in turn helps to spread the light evenly as also making the product thinner in dimensions.

The latest LG 3D TV is among the thinnest around, being only 8.8 mm in depth. Apart from being 3D capable, the TVs will also have the provision for the viewer to view online content which includes Web albums and conduct video calling.

The company plans to sell around 3 million units by the end of next year by launching the product in Korea and Germany from September this year.
