Wisconsin city selects Cooper LED luminaries for replacing about 1200 traditional lights

At present, Cooper Lighting Lumark started replacing Waukesha, Wisconsin in America 1200 street lights using Cooper Lighting Lumark RC LED Cobrahead Luminaires.

With the financial support from an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grant, before choose the Cooper LED products, Waukesha has tested 14 factories’ LED-based luminaries. Testing revealed that Cooper Lighting's LED luminaries provided the controlled distribution and color quality of light as well as the calculated energy savings that would not only meet, but exceed the city goals. So, in October, the city has ordered Cooper LED Luminaries from Cooper Lighting, and the replacement program will be accomplished in June of 2011.

The company noted, its luminaries called AccuLED Optics, which used the company’s Lightbar technology and the individual TIR (total internal reflection) optics. The Lightbar technology delivered 30-75% energy savings compared to legacy HID lights and the IP66-rated SSL product has a 50,000 hours life, by which Cooper luminaire met with success in the testing.
