Toshiba Starts Mass Producing Highly Efficient White LEDs

Toshiba has started mass producing LED products belonging to its new LED TL1L4 series as of Feb.4, 2015, according to a Nikkei BP report.

The new white LEDs have a luminous flux of 160 to 170 lumens, and is designed for applications including LED bulbs, basic luminaires, downlights, streetlights and spot lights.

The TL1L4 product series has a luminous efficacy of 160 lm/W, color temperatures can reach 5,000K, Ra=70 @IF=350 mA, and Ta=25℃. Highest currents can reach 1A under Ta=85℃. Compared to the company’s existing TL1L3 product series, the new products luminous efficacy can reach above 60%, which can raise the product’s luminous efficacy, while lowering energy consumption.
