Philips Aims at Acquisitions in the Asia-Pacific Region

Currently, Philips has announced it will seek for acquisitions in the Asia-Pacific region as a part of the company's strategic to keep up with its growth momentum for its lighting business.

According to Philips Lighting Asia Regional Director Nigel D' Acre, the adoption rate of LEDs in the emerging markets, especially in Asia, was even faster. As a result, they felt that they need to catch up and be prepared with the growth through partnerships, future acquisitions, through close relationships and other infrastructure projects.

In D' Acre‘s opinion, the global LED light market is estimated at over 1 billion euros and is expected to touch 12 billion euros in 2015. With Asia Pacific taking the lead, LED-based lighting across emerging markets will play a key role to drive the growth.

It’s said Asia-Pacific region include Selecon in New Zealand, NSW in China/HK SAR and Dynalite in Australia have joined the acquisitions.
