Korea Amends LED Retrofit Lamp Standards

Spurred by rising demands for safety certification of LED lamps, the Korean government released a new amendment for LED lamp retrofits for fluorescent lamps on Feb. 28th, according to China WTO/TBT National Notification and Enquiry Center.

The amendment is to standard K10025, which originally only covered internal converter type LED lamps for fluorescent lamp retrofit. The standard will be extended to include FPL LED lamps. In order to do so, the standard will cover internal converter type LED lamps which are compatible to single capped fluorescent lamps as well as double capped lamps.

The amendment specifies that LED lamps must meet basic quality requirements including color temperature, color rendering, and angle of beam spread.
