The key of Bravia TVs’ Picture Quality is RGB LED Backlight Technology

Recently, Sony Corp announced a new product line of Bravia LCD TVs including the XR1 series, which has an RGB LED backlight unit. The company said that the XR1 series offers "the highest picture quality in the history of Bravia," and also has an extremely wide color gamut of 122% NTSC. It is scheduled for release on Oct 10, 2008, many of the details have yet to be released.

Everett to introduce energy-efficient LEDs lights

Recently, Everett traffic engineers got the green light to replace every green light in the city. City street crews will soon swap out incandescent green light bulbs at 169 traffic signals and replace them with more energy-efficient light emitting diodes, or LEDs.LEDs are used in electronic devices such as cell phones, digital alarm clocks and even the crystal ball that descends on New York's Times Square on New Year's Eve. Taiwan Government expects to invest NT$1-2 billion on LED traffic-light

Recently Premier Liu Chao-hsuan announced the government would promote an energy policy to develop energy technologies. It’s reported that the government would encourage changing the remaining 460,000 incandescent traffic lights islandwide to LED types, replacing all the incandescent lamps at government organizations with compact fluorescent lamps, and install solar hot water panels in 140,000 residences over the next four years. The government is estimated to spend NT$1-2 billion on LED traffic-light investments.
