One of Japan’s largest lighting exhibitions to be kicked off in 2016, Lighting Japan, will take place on Jan. 13, 2016 this year at Tokyo Big Sight. The show will offer a comprehensive overview of the latest global LED lighting trends in 2016, and new technology developments.
Reed Exhibition, the organizers of the show, pointed out the lighting exhibition will be separated into two main pavilions International Lighting Expo, and Luminaire Expo. Additionally, the show will have two major features OLED technology, and international luminaire design to meet attending buyers and designer demands.

Japan is a very important LED lighting market, with a very high market penetration rate, where newly sold luminaires market penetration rate has reached above 85%.
The country has also agreed to COP 21’s carbon emission reduction demands, and is promoting the roll out of more energy efficient residential lighting throughout Japan by 2020. The company has also been actively developing various projects, and collaborating with enterprises in LED and many other resources.
Additionally, Japan’s LED patents, UV LED and laser diode (LD) technologies and production volume have achieved good performance. The company also has many new products that buyers can use as a reference for procurement purposes.
According to data compiled by Reed Japan, the number of companies attending the show this year increased 15% to 320 companies, with an estimated 20,000 buyers will be attending the show.
The Light-Tech Expo 2017 will be take place at the same venue from Jan. 18-20, 2017 at Tokyo Big Sight, Japan. Booth pre-registration for the 2017 event will be available starting from Jan. 11, 2016.
