The 3rd Shanghai International Auto Lamp Expo and the 12th Auto Lamp Industry Development Technical Forum, organized by the Committee of GTB and CATARC, opened its curtain under the spotlight. The exposition gathered the whole automotive lighting supply chain, from providers of key components- driver ICs, optoelectronic components, and waterproof auto lamp films- and car light manufacturers, to Chinese major automakers. LEDinside here had an interview with Brightek Optoelectronics on its automotive lighting solutions.
LEDinside noticed that Brightek exhibited a holistic range of automotive
LED light sources, including all series of LED packages catering to all types of interior lighting. Eyeing the increasing demand for interior ambient lighting in the future, Brightek developed different LED packages with a multitude of color temperatures, providing auto lamp makers more choices for advanced automotive lighting manufacture.

In terms of light sources for applications such as dashboards and interior decorative lights, Brightek presented not only regular 3528 and 3030 LED packages but more compact 2214 packages, allowing lighting designs of dashboards and signals on central infotainment displays (CIDs) to be more flexible. Exterior lighting wise, Brightek also launched a PLCC6 (3433) package that, unlike 3030 and 3535 LED packages, has higher compatibility able to meet different installation requirements. As for headlamps, Brightek has started the development to produce headlamp illuminators consisting of 4 or 5 vertical structured LED chips that when powered with an 1 amp current provide a luminous efficacy of 1300-1500lm. Once brought into being, those light sources will certainly be in the limelight in China’s auto lamp market.

Another highlight of Brightek’s exhibits lies in its infrared light applications such as the time-of-flight camera (ToF camera). Featuring a more sustainable 3535 LED package with a quartz glass, the illuminator is able to give an output ranging from a soft 803nm red glow to a fully covert 940nm infrared light ray. In addition, Brightek displayed its interior ambient lighting system with an IR gesture recognition module supporting a maximum of 9 gestures. It is worth noting that the module integrates its firmware devices with software, dramatically enhancing its installability for automakers.
