StrongLED Smart Lighting Proposes Panorama Lighting Solutions for Better Home and Workplace Health

StrongLED Smart Lighting (SSL)—the newly established smart lighting business of Suzhou-based StrongLED Group—held a press conference with its research partner from National Central University (NCU) on October 22, 2021. Intending to prevent depression, insomnia, and other diseases of modern life, the company proposed lighting solutions for happiness- and health-centered architecture and welcomed guests to try on the “Lighting-based Brain Wave Test” on site. Various notables were also invited, including James Chang (CEO of StrongLED Group), Kim Chang (CEO of Rongseng Laboratories), Prof. Che-Ming Chiang (former director of the Dept. of Architecture, National Cheng Kung University and founder of Taiwan Wellness Building Association), Prof. Eric Hsieh (Dept. of Interior Design, Chung Yuan Christian University), and Wen-Liang Chen (president of Chinese Association of Interior Designers).

Aiming to shift the focus of lighting towards smart- and health-centered technologies with increased value, SSL developed a panorama lighting system, officially entering the smart lighting market.

Lawrence Lin, CEO of SSL, emphasized that lighting fixtures should be safe and protect human health, but there are still numerous spaces with unqualified lighting products, which is one of the factors contributing to an increase in patients with modern life conditions such as depression, insomnia, nervousness, and anxiety. By incorporating its panorama lighting system with lighting fixtures featuring full-spectrum, double color temperature, and smart light control, SSL is able to accurately establish panorama lighting solutions (with proper coordination between spectrum, frequency, light intensity, and duration settings). As per the proprietor’s requirements, designers can apply corresponding solutions to various indoor spaces such as bedrooms, living rooms, healthcare institutions, offices, and business spaces.

“Lighting-based Brain Wave Test”

SSL believes that indoor smart lighting comprises three dimensions including basic lighting, operational lighting (for work, dining, and reading), and artistic lighting (for visual experience and atmosphere establishment). Basic lighting products shall be designed according to circadian rhythms and put the user’s emotions into consideration to ensure sufficient physical and mental stability. Operational lighting products should be able to adjust their lighting modes as per different emotional needs such as one’s demand for concentration, relaxation, and happiness. A healthy lighting system can bring pleasure to its users, stabilize workers’ emotions at the workplace, stimulate consumption desire, and allow individuals to relax and be comfortable at home.

Air conditioning, lighting, and drinking water are crucial elements for a healthy home lifestyle. Although lighting accounts for 3%-5% of home decor cost, the quality of light was neglected until recently, where users have increasingly emphasized this element. Having long prioritized the quality of light in its products, SSL has received new orders from both the new and the existing construction projects.

With its panoramic lighting system for smart lighting, SSL is open to cooperation with lighting associations, designers, and even competitors, so as to jointly develop the smart lighting market.
