【Exclusive Interview】UVT Provides Various Customized Solutions, Continuing to Create Greater Value for Its Customers

Leveraging extensive experience and expertise in high-power LED and VCSEL packaging, UVT provides LED packaging, optical design, mechanism design, IC integration services, and high-quality packaging contract manufacturing services, creating greater value for its clients and fostering a mutually beneficial relationship. The company has been active in attending the specialized event OPIE Yokohama held in Japan. TrendForce had the opportunity to interview general manager Ethan Chen to delve deeper into the company’s product development plans and progress for 2024.

According to Chen, UVT has been dedicated to OEM and ODM services of LED components and modules since its establishment. Its products find applications in various sectors including UV exposure, curing, semiconductor testing (light sources), industrial testing (LED light sources), specialized lighting LED (blue and red lasers), disinfection and sterilization UVC LED, IR security surveillance. Additionally, the company offers services such as contract design of automotive LEDs and modules, and OEM contract manufacturing.

At OPIE Yokohama 2024, the manufacturer unveiled UV-C LED products with ultra-high radiant power output, including the three flagship products with different power specs: the 3838 LED (electric power [P] <2W), 3939 LED (P = 2–5W), and 6868 LED (P = 8–20W), providing optical power of over 100mW. In addition, UVT introduced the UV-C LED flowing water sterilization module (Water Reactor), which can achieve a disinfection performance of 99.99% against E. coli in household drinking water systems with a flow rate of 2-4 liters per minute. It also features automatic UV-C water flow detection, capable of automatically starting and stopping UV-C irradiation. The samples of this platform has been widely shipped to customers, and can be customized according to different requirements for water flow rates and custom needs. The product boasts strong sterilization power and high cost-effectiveness, and customers can directly adopt it without incurring development and design fees.


As for blue laser applications, UVT showcased a 5W high-power output edge-emitting blue laser package, a 5W white laser, and a 0.2W red laser, with main specifications in TO-can packaging. The company also introduced edge-emitting to top-emitting SMD laser products in 3535 / 6868 packaging, emphasizing high cost-effectiveness, allowing manufacturers to produce cost-effective surface-emitting lasers using the SMT process, making them user-friendly and labor-saving. UVT provides diverse products and customizable product services tailored to customer needs.


As Chen revealed, UVT hopes that market demand and industry recovery can return to the normal level, with industry progress still driven by customers in the US and Japan. By providing standard and customized services to customers, the company aims to create a win-win situation.
