According to The Elec, Samsung has announced plans to launch a 115-inch RGB Micro LED TV later this year. The new model will be part of the company’s Neo QLED TV lineup but positioned as an ultra-high-end version. In contrast, current Neo QLED models typically use Mini LED backlighting technology, as the report notes.
The Elec reports that Samsung plans to officially launch the TV series in June.
As highlighted in the report, the RGB Micro LED TV uses red, green, and blue LEDs as its backlight source, helping maintain higher color purity even after passing through color filters—offering a clear advantage over Samsung’s existing Mini LED-backlit TVs.
Additionally, as the term “Micro LED” suggests, the TV uses smaller LED chips, which allow for more local dimming zones and result in higher contrast, the report adds.
Furthermore, as indicated by the report, the RGB Micro LED TV supports full-color local dimming and consumes 20% less power compared to previous models. Besides the 115-inch version, Samsung also plans to release three other sizes: 75, 85, and 98 inches.
