Lighting Fair 2011 Series (III) – Review of Taiwanese Manufacturers

The scale of Taiwanese manufacturers’ exhibitions was small in this year’s Lighting Fair, which were mostly LED components, LED light bulbs and LED PAR lights; some manufacturers also exhibited new LED tubes.

LED Package Manufacturers

Lustrous exhibited products of PearlVI3 series and PearlIX3 series; the former used 6.5W LED lights and the latter used 8.5W LED lights, and they both adopted Epistar’s High Voltage LED chip. The luminous efficacy of 3000K LED light could reach approximately 60~70 LM/W and 5000K LED light could reach approximately 80~90 LM/W.

The major focus of LED package manufacturer Edison in 2011 is on the concept of LDMS(Lighting Design Manufacturing Service). The aim is to make a breakthrough into lighting market with an integrated lighting system of LED components (EdipowerII, EdixeonS), LED modules and LED lighting products.

LED Lighting Manufacturers

LED lighting manufacturers such as ALT, Kaipis, Bitc, Liten and JustLED exhibited a series of products as well. Taiwan-based manufacturer XLEDIA also exhibited a LED light bulb which allegedly had the highest luminous efficacy at this exhibition.

Taiwanese lighting manufacturer BITC launched a new PAR38 LED light, whose color temperature can be altered by the remote control, and thus it is able to bring a vivid color to foods. In addition, different color temperatures are labeled with different kinds of foods for the sake of users’ convenience.

Taiwan-based manufacturer XLEDIA showcased a LED light bulb which allegedly had the highest luminous efficacy at this exhibition: a 16W LED light bulb with 1540lm. XLEDIA uses exclusive TTR(Tunneling Thermal Resistance) technology, tunneling effect and special materials to achieve an optimized thermal dissipation. Due to its high brightness, it is more applicable to commercial space lighting usage.

Mavis and EGing PV exhibited LED lighting products with rather unique shapes. Mavis 8W LED chandelier’s extraordinary build, surrounded by low power LED lights on top of it, drew a great deal of attention. Its selling price was 45 dollars at the exhibition.
