LEDforum China of International Market Trend and Lighting Applications Has a Successful Close

Led by LEDinside , and assisted by ITRI, 2011 LEDforum China of International Market Trend and Lighting Applications has made a successful close on May 27th,2011. Specialists  including Philips, Osram, Veeco, Macroblock, Seoul Semiconductor have shared their experience about LED facility and the development tendency of LED.

philips

Mr. Sean Zhou, Marketing Director (Asia) of Philips Lumileds believed that LED lighting is changing the prospects of the whole industry. LED chip makers must endeavor to realize the mass use of LED lighting from three aspects——light quality, performance and cost as well as reliability.

Veeco

For Dr. Jia Lee, the Director of Marketing for Veeco’s MOCVD business thought that HB LED is in the early stages of major growth cycle. MOCVD is the most critical step in determining LED brightness, yield and cost. Besides, MOCVD purchase accounts for over 50% of LED fab capital expenditure. The introduction of new MOCVD technologies will improve capital efficiency and reduce ownership cost.

Aixtron

Dr. Rainer Beccard, VP Marketing of Aixtron introduced MOCVD requirements for SSL, including higher throughput, larger wafer, higher growth rates, automation, fab integration and metrology. He also pointed out that larger wafers will become the development trend for higher MOCVD throughput and lower cost.

Macroblock

Macroblock’s Chairman Dr. Lichang Yang presented his viewpoints on LED lighting development in various application ends. He remarked that the replacement of conventional neon lamps with RGB LED has become an industry trend. Use of curtain or irregular displays in commercial space will gradually rise and LED banners will take the place of conventional banners.

Epilight

Dr. Maosheng Hao of Shanghai Epilight illustrated Epilight’s current technology level, development and future plan. He also elaborated on PPS, wafer, chip, thin film vertical structure and surface roughening technologies.

Seoul Semiconductor

According to Mr. Guojie Pan, FAE Manager for China of Seoul Semiconductor, Seoul Semiconductor is able to provide one-stop solutions for LED customers including LED chips, packages and application products. He also introduced Acriche’s A Series and Z Series.

LEDinside

LEDinside analyst Roger Chu introduced the development of conventional lighting and LED lighting, the status quo and development of LED applications. He also analyzed LED lighting trend revealed in Lighting Fair 2011 in Japan. He believed that LED light quality can be drawn close to that of conventional light sources through larger light angle so as to replace them. LED straight tube is the major target for most makers.

Since its establishment, LEDinside has been committed to provide better information and services for customers and held LEDforum 2008, LEDforum 2009, LEDforum China 2010, LEDforum Taipei 2010, offering good interaction opportunities for global LED industry players especially those across the straits. Thus LEDinside is recognized by LED industry players as the builder of “the bridge for cross-straits LED cooperation and communication”.

In 2011, following the same concept of building bridge for cross-straits LED cooperation and communication, LEDinside successfully organized LEDforum Shenzhen 2011 under strong supports of LED industry players. LEDinside will continue to stick to the concept to create more and better cooperative opportunities for LED industry players across the straits. Your participation and support is the drive force of our untiring efforts.
