Brother Aims To Capture 15-20 Percent in LED Printing Market

This year, the main focus of Brother International (M) Sdn Bhd is capturing 15 to 20 percent market share in the Malaysian LED printing segment by year-end.

Brother’s Director Yoshiaki Otsuka said LED printing was an open market as only a few companies are engaged in the business. "We don't own any percentage currently as we just launched the LED printers today, but we are working hard to ensure our market share in the information technology industry.”

"With the launch of the new products, we are sure LED printers will boost our sales by 25 to 30 per cent," he said. In the laser printing segment in which the company had more than 20 per cent market share, it aimed to up its share to 30 per cent by year-end.

Otsuka said the laser segment was not the same with LED as major companies and manufacturers were involved in the business. In a related development, Otsuka said the company had secured big deals with government agencies in the printing segment.

"Our main focus is corporate and government agencies and small and medium entrepreneurs to take up Brother's products," he said. However, he declined to divulge on Brother's take-up rate in government agencies.
