LG Accused Osram, Hella of LED Patent Infringement in China

Sources inform that on this Tuesday, LG Electronics got together with its component-making unit, LG Innotek Co., to file a lawsuit in the No. 2 Intermediate People's Court of Beijing,  China against Osram and auto parts maker Hella KGaA Hueck & Co., seeking a ban on sales of Osram's LED products and Hella's headlamps in the Asian country.

It is the latest development in a legal spat between South Korean and German firms over LED lighting technology. Osram wasn't immediately available for comment.

According to LG , it also separately filed a lawsuit against Osram's affiliates--Osram Opto Semiconductors and Osram Sylvania Ltd.--in the U.S., seeking monetary compensation for damages caused by the alleged patent infringement.
