Kim Lighting Launches the First Outdoor Luminaire

Hubbell Lighting, a world leader in lighting innovation, launched today the first fully customizable light distribution outdoor LED luminaires—Kim Lighting’s breakthrough ArcheType X™ series. Available in a flood, wall or site/area luminaires, the ArcheType X™ has independently adjustable LED emitters—providing limitless lighting distributions and possibilities from one product family.

The ArcheType X™ includes the brand’s new LEAR™ (Light Engine Adjustable Ready) module, which brings unparalleled flexibility to the lighting industry. Delivering independently adjustable LED emitters, the Type X Distribution allows the fixture to be configured to any standard or custom distribution—either at the factory or in the field. The optics features 355 degree rotation with 70 degree module tilt independent of the luminaire. This means lighting designers get the desired light precisely where it’s wanted and not where it’s unwanted or not needed. If there’s a problem in the field, users can simply re-aim using the AGi 32 V.16.0 Design Isolines software and send the custom IES file to Kim Lighting who will create a modified template and send it back for field modification of the distribution.

Available in lumen packages ranging from 10,500 to 30,000, the ArcheType X™ comes in three versatile sizes that can be either an uplight or downlight based on tilt and rotation.

Paying homage to the classic Kim Lighting Archetype luminaire styling, the ArcheType X™ Flood family is designed to bring this iconic housing design a modern twist, distinguishing this shape from all other LED floodlighting in the marketplace. Available in three sizes (3x3–54 LEDs; 4x4–96 LEDs; 5x5–150 LEDs) and three color temperatures (3000K, 4000K and 5000K), the flood can deliver up to 12,000 lumens and is ideal for nighttime facade lighting.

The complimentary ArcheType X™ Wall family has been designed to allow either focused up or classic down distribution performance in addition to customizable options. Utilizing these speed-mount luminaires allows designers to freely redistribute light as needed to create directional pathways, or to highlight egress direction, architectural details or signage.

Lastly, the ArcheType X™ site/area family utilizes the LEAR™ modules to take on tasks previously accomplished only by ground-mounted sign lighting or landscape level products. This family delivers vertical illuminance without obtrusive glare or wasteful spill light allowing designers to highlight traffic lanes and minimize boundary lighting trespass without the need for external louvers or shields.
