Solid State Supplies' New Efficient LED Engin Emitter Delivers 4W of Flux

Solid Sate Supplies adds new products to its LZ4 Series Emitter. (Solid Sate Supplies/LEDinside)

Solid State Supplies has announced availability of a new high-power and high-performance ultra-violet (UV) light emitter that targets a wide range of industrial applications.

Manufactured by LED Engin, the new LZ4-04UV00 365nm LuxiGen emitter combines a high performance surface-mount package with the latest generation of high-power LED die. It provides superior radiometric power in the wavelength range specifically required for applications such as curing, printing, sterilisation, currency verification and a variety of other medical applications.

The 2.2 x 2.2mm light-emitting surface (LES) area with a 7.0 x 7.0mm emitter footprint provides exceptional optical power density, delivering 2.9W radiant flux output at 700mA or more than 4W at 1000mA. The flat glass lens facilitates the use of imaging optics as well as light pipes and other optics enabling extreme narrow beam angles – down to +/–3°.

The high-quality materials used in the package have been selected to minimise thermal resistance, optimise light output, deliver excellent UV resistance and minimise stresses, resulting in class-leading reliability, and radiant flux maintenance of 80% at 100°C.

The LZ4-04UV00 UV LED emitter from LED Engin is optionally available pre-mounted on a Star metal core PCB. Both types are now available from Solid State Supplies in sample and volume quantities.
