Researchers Develops a New Material for White TADF Light Emitting Devices

An international joint research group succeeded in developing a novel thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) material which displays emission of light in colors from green to deep-red through Intersystem Crossing from the singlet to the triplet excitons, a world first. The results will contribute to R&D in white TADF light emitting devices for indoor and outdoor use through combination with TADF materials that emit light in shorter wavelengths (deep blue to yellow).

LightPointe Investment in Visible Light Communications Pays Off as Company Backs Firefly Wireless Networks to Target VLC and LiFi Market

LightPointe Communications, Inc., which is the dominant manufacturer of long range outdoor point to point wireless bridges using radio frequency and laser technology, announced that it has formed and co-owns a new company aimed at the emerging hot tech sector referred to as Visible Light Communications and LiFi, orLight Fidelity. Philips Lighting Lights up Rio de Janeiro for Upcoming Sport Event of 2016

Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition 2016 gathered a record 140,000+ visitors from around the world

Taking the lighting sector’s transformation in stride, the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition (GILE) wrapped up its 21st edition with visitor figures reaching a record high. The expo maintains its steady position as an influential and comprehensive lighting and LED event by receiving strong industry support – support that was demonstrated through its largest annouced visitor figures in decades. The 2016 edition, held from 9 – 12 June at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou, welcomed 145,080 visitors (2015: 135,990) – more than a six percent increase from last year’s numbers – from 137 countries and regions. These professionals hailed from China as well as from various developed and emerging markets worldwide. The top 10 overseas visiting countries and regions were Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Korea, Thailand, Singapore, the US, Australia, Italy and Germany.

On June 30, 2016, Seoul Viosys announced that the U.S. Federal District Court for the Southern District of Florida issued a judgment in favor of Seoul Viosys against Salon Suppl, a company that sells UV LED curing device (“Salon Supply”). In the judgment, Salon Supply acknowledged infringement of Seoul Viosys’s asserted patents as well as their validity. Salon Supply agreed to pay past damages, as well as a license fee, and to stop using unlicensed infringing products.

Amerlux Joins Philips Lighting’s EnabLED Licensing Program

Philips Lighting, a global leader in lighting today announced that it has signed a patent license agreement with the US company Amerlux. The license, based on Philips Lighting’s EnabLED licensing program’s published terms and conditions, provides Amerlux with full, worldwide access to a wide range of basic LED control and system-level technologies.
