Macroblock Presents Innovate Applications at Touch Taiwan 2019

As a driver IC design house with a special focus on power management and optoelectronic applications, Macroblock is not only devoted to LED display driver IC development, but also enthusiastic in new markets with innovated applications, such as: LED backlight driver ICs (Direct type LED full-array local dimming, called FALD), mini-LED backlight driver ICs and modules, Micro-LED backlight and display modules, and gaming keyboards. These are demonstrated at  at Touch Taiwan 2019.

Get Ready for HDR

Macroblock demonstrates ‘Display’ products with MBI driver ICs at Touch Taiwan 2019, which can be applied to LCD display. n-Vehicle Infotainment system(IVI system), Virtual Reality (VR) glasses, LED backlight module of laptops, Mini LED modules with fine pitch 0.625mm, and Micro LED modules. Macroblock launches an appeal to the public for ‘Get Ready for HDR.’ In fact, High Dynamic Range Imaging (called HDR) is regarded as a goal that current display industries follow, and also as a main focus of attention at Macroblock as well. Driver IC MBI5359 is applied to Mini LED and Micro LED, which supports LED display to realize HDR efficiently. This proves that Macroblock has the capability to do mass production of Mini/Micro LED modules.

Besides, it introduces proficient technologies into LCD display backlight application so as to accelerate achieving HDR standard: Macroblock driver ICs features high channel count with scanning type topology. Compared to other solutions, it is allowed to realize up to 20-30 times local dimming zones. More detailed parts of light and dark images can be discovered by sophisticated dimming zones. With using Mini LED to realize direct type LED full-array local dimming with high zone counts, it improves the contrast ratio of LCD and its result is close to OLED display effect. Due to the small size of Mini-LED, it can achieve thousands of dimming zones and shorten optical distance, which allows direct type LED FALD to be equipped in ultra-thin displays.

The gaming market goes viral currently, and Macroblock has cooperated with branded enterprises at the early stage. Macroblock showcases the RGB backlight for gaming keyboard with driver IC MBIA127/MBIA128, which equipped with 10-bit PWM resolution and only needs 5 driver ICs to control 400 RGB pixels.

Macroblock demonstrates first-debuted products and packs in the crowds at Touch Taiwan 2019. It is convinced that developing new product strategies with innovated applications is the principle Macroblock insists.
