CIMCON Lighting Releases NearSky Connect Program to Improve Smart City Management

CIMCON Lighting, a lighting management solution provider, has announced the launch of the NearSky™ Connect program. The program aims to gather service and technology providers to deliver solutions for smart city applications.

The company has released the NearSky platform and NearSky 360 product line last year, focusing on the integration of devices, sensors and applications across cities. The newly launched NearSky Connect program brings together technology and service providers to develop smart city applications and solutions that are easier to test, deploy and manage. In addition, the NearSky Connect will drive innovation, enabling members to co-create new products and services that go well beyond what they could have individually conceptualized or developed.

The NearSky Connect is centered around CIMCON Lighting's NearSky platform, which transforms a city's existing streetlight infrastructure into a city-wide network of connected outdoor digital assets – or an Internet of Outdoor Things. The NearSky platform includes a streetlight-mounted data hub that captures, aggregates and distributes data from a wide array of sensors and devices.

"Every smart city initiative is different and the NearSky platform offers the flexibility to address any city's needs. The NearSky Connect makes the platform come to life, helping cities manage the complexity of developing smart city solutions and enabling cities to deploy smart city applications more quickly," said Anil Agrawal, CEO of CIMCON.
