EVERLIGHT Electronics Co., Ltd. on April 25, 2017 filed its complaints with Tokyo District Court against Nichia Corporation, Citizen Electronics Co., Ltd. and Daiko Electronics Co., Ltd. for patent infringement.
EVERLIGHT requested the Court to enjoin Nichia and Citizen from manufacturing, selling, importing or exporting any COB (chip on board) products. EVERLIGHT also requested the Court to enjoin Daiko from manufacturing, selling, importing or exporting any lighting products that are incorporated with such COB goods. Nichia, Citizen and Daiko were also requested to destroy any inventories and bear EVERLIGHT’s damages due to their infringement. COB products are LED packages that have multiple chips directly mounted on the substrate. COB products are perfect for lighting purposes because of the highly intensive and uniformed luminance.
EVERLIGHT respects intellectual property rights and does not tolerate any infringement and will devote to the protection of customers’ and shareholders’ benefits and rights.
