4Cabling Acquires e-Commerce Business OzLighting

Australia’s largest online retailer of server racks, network cabling, and fiber optics, 4Cabling, has successfully acquired 5 year-old e-commerce lighting retailer OzLighting.

In a deal finalized this week, 4Cabling Pty Ltd has acquired Oz Lighting Pty Ltd, the Sydney based online lighting shop. The addition of the lighting company, which features top international and Australian brands on OzLighting.com.au, is a strategic move to expand the 4Cabling portfolio of businesses.

The acquisition is intended to fill a gap that Managing Director, Jonathan Maister, says customers have been searching for. “The lighting sector has been looking for someone to provide a consistent experience for both B2C and B2B customers, online and in-store, and there are significant opportunities for both 4Cabling and OzLighting customers to benefit from our collaboration,” said Maister about the deal.

"The OzLighting team have done a great job getting the business to where it is today, but adding the strong warehousing, infrastructure and exceptional customer service synonymous with 4Cabling to the site will allow us to take it to the next level,” said Chitrang Trivedi, the Director of Sales for 4Cabling Pty Ltd.

The entire OzLighting team will remain in place, bringing its expert knowledge and understanding of the lighting industry along with them. OzLighting has a broad range of lighting solutions, from pendant lights to ceiling lights, but with a particular emphasis on LED downlights and globes. Strategic relationships with Brilliant, Mercator, Atom Lighting, and PAK Lighting will remain in place as details of the company’s new direction unfold.

4Cabling has been a disruptor to the online retail business long before disruption became a buzzword. In 2006 4Cabling dismantled the data & communications industry standard by distributing directly to customers to provide lower prices. 4Cabling will bring the same spirit to OzLighting, as well as adding a commercial lighting element to the 4Cabling.com.au online shop.
