Lighting Association Seminar Focuses on LEDs

The UK-based Lighting Association is holding a one-day seminar entitled “LEDs — Time to Engage?” on July 7, 2009 in Stratford upon Avon, UK. The seminar is with the purpose of helping lighting manufacturers better understand the current position of LEDs, where the future lies and to evaluate if the time is right to engage with LED technology.

The subjects to be discussed will include the current state of the market; how lighting will look in 2020; government policy and roadmap for efficient lighting; standards; and essential design parameters for luminaire designers.

The event is aimed at key decision makers in lighting manufacturers or importers such as managing directors and financial directors, who will gain a better understanding on whether the time is right to engage with LED technology and how to go about it.

It will also be helpful to lighting designers and technical managers, who will gain a better understanding of the essential design parameters required to build a reliable LED luminaire and the necessary technical standards.
